The Saints found themselves up against the Sabers of Souhegan High in the consolation game. They had beaten them during the regular season and had lost to them in a shoot out in last years tournament.

The Hood Airship flew over the game. I could say it was for aerial photos for television coverage, but that wasn't the case.

Game Captains Jamie Phontharaksa, Justin Guilbert and Tom Gibney went out to represent the team for the coin toss.
The Saints started out with the defense of Matt Roginski as Stopper, Nick Blunier and Tom Gibney as Fullbacks and Mark Miller as Sweeper. Midfielders Taylor Andy Stone, Justin Guilbert, Jamie Phontharaksa and Bryan Hennigan. Tom Carroll and Owen " Taco" Cook as strikers. Colin McBride was guarding the net for St. Thomas

The game had started and then Lenis Kenter decided it was time to go put his uniform and equipment on.
10 minutes into the game the strikers were switched as Lenis Kenter (now dressed and ready) and Peter Shwaegerle went in. Taylor "T-Mac" MacDonald and Jerry Phontharaksa went in as outside midfielders.
At the 20 minute mark Sean Waters and Brent Snyder went in as outside midfielders. Keith Hallock went in at center midfield.
26:30 Waters made a break on goal and the sabers Keeper shoved him to the ground without getting a whistle from the referee.
At the 30 minute mark Ryan Price went in as striker.
At the 37 minute mark, Hennigan sent a pass to Carroll who took a shot and just missed wide right of the net.
The Score was tied 0-0 at the half.
The Saints had out shot the Sabers 13-5.

The Saints took the field in the second half with McBride, Miller, Blunier, Gibney and Roginski at defense. Hennigan, Guilbert, Jamie Phontharaksa and Stone at Midfield. MacDonald and Jerry Phontharaksa were up front as strikers.
At 45:46 Guilbert sent a pass to Stone who beat the Saber keeper and made the score 1-0 for the Saints.

Here Miller is fouled hard by a Sohegan player with no call from the referee.
At 46:20 the strikers were changed up and Cook and Carroll went in.
At the 52 minute mark into the game the strikers were switched as Kenter and Shwaegerle went in. Waters and Snyder went in as outside midfielders.
At 53:28 Waters sent a pass to Kenter who scored against the Souhegan keeper to put St. Thomas up 2-0.

Hallock went in at center midfield at 57:22.
At 64:35 the Sabers beat the St. Thomas defense and scored to make it 2-1.
The Saints were pressing the attack. They were controlling midfield and making runs on the Saber net. The Souhegan keeper was coming up with a lot of saves.
At 78:44 the Sabers scored to tie the game 2-2. You never would have thought they could with the way St. Thomas was dominating the play.
The game ended with the score tied 2-2. The Saints had out shot the Sabers 25-9 and would now go to a shoot-out.
The Captains met with the referees and Souhegan won the toss which means they would shoot first.
The St. Thomas players were at midfield and coach asked who would like to shoot for the team. The order was picked with some nervousness. It was to be Guilbert, Jamie Phontharaksa, Stone, Roginski and Gibney for the first five. If it went over 5 it would be Blunier, MacDonald, Miller, Carroll, Jerry Phontharaksa, and finally McBride. Hopefully we wouldn't get beyond the first five.
McBride was in net for the Saints.
Souhegan's keeper shot first and scored.
Guilbert Shot next for the Saints and scored.
Souhegan shot next and hit the post.
Jamie Phontharaksa shot next for St. Thomas and scored. The Saints were up 2-1.
Souhegan shot next and scored.
Stone shot next and it went over the cross bar, but the keeper moved forward too early so Stone would get another shot. Stone scored on the second shot and St. Thomas was up 3-2.
Souhegan shot next and scored.
Roginski shot next for the Saints and it went wide. The score was tied 3-3
Souhegan shot next and hit the cross bar.
Gibney was up and there was no pressure, yeah right. If he makes it St. Thomas wins, if he misses the shoot out continues one on one.
Gibney sets up, the ref blows the whistle to go, Gibney shoots and scores!
The Saints win.....The Saints win.....The Saints win.....
